Cavendish Celebrates Authors and Reading at the First Book Jam

Proctorsville, Vermont. The Cavendish Fletcher Community Library and The Book Nook are proud to host the first Cavendish Book Jam will take place on Saturday November 7th at the Cavendish Fletcher Community Library in Proctorsville.  The doors open at 12.30pm and the author talks will start at 1pm.  The afternoon will feature three Vermont writers talking about their books and their writing processes - Kathryn Bonnez, Archer Mayor and Brian Staveley.

Kathryn Bonnez's describes first book, A Lone Star in the Green Mountains, "in the best tradition of memoir and travel writing, exploration of place becomes that of self as a native Texan chronicles her love affair with Vermont: its intriguing history and towns, spirited people and distinctive culture." Archer Mayor recently released The Company She Kept this fall, the twenty-sixth novel in his beloved Joe Gunther mystery series.  This one starts out with a brutal murder that is linked to Joe Gunther's friend and former lover Vermont Governor Gail Zigman, which causes a storm of publicity that surrounds the investigation. Brian Staveley's first book in the Unhewn Throne trilogy, The Emperor's Blades , was named the Best Fantasy Debut of 2014 on Reddit Fantasy.  The second book of the trilogy, The Providence of Fire, is now out and continues the fast and frenetic pace of the first book.  If you like The Game of Thrones, definitely give this trilogy a try.

The first Cavendish Book Jam will take place at 1pm on Saturday November 7th at the Cavendish Fletcher Community Library at 573 Main Street Proctorsville, VT. Doors open at 12.30pm. Books of all three authors will be available for purchase and to get signed. There is no charge for this event.

“Seven Stories Up” by Laurel Snyder
“Annie wants to meet her grandmother.
Molly wishes she had a friend.
A little magic brings them together in an almost-impossible friendship.

When Annie wakes up on her first morning at the Hotel Calvert, she’s in for a big surprise. There’s a girl named Molly in her bed who insists the year is 1937 and that this is her room! Annie’s not sure what happened, but when she learns that Molly’s never been outside the hotel, she knows it’s time for an adventure. Magic, fortune-telling, some roller skates, a rescued kitten, and the best kind of friendship make up the unforgettable story of two girls destined to change each other’s lives.” * Amazon.com
