Vermont State Police arrested two Rutland jail inmates on Wednesday for bringing drugs into the jail, according to a release.
Correctional staff discovered, during a procedural search in the admission area, that inmate Ashley H. Blanchard, 23, of Mount Holly, had concealed a syringe containing heroin inside an opening in her body, State Police said.
And after getting information that inmate Lloyd G. Wright Jr., 45, of Shaftsbury might have suboxone, correctional staff searched Wright and found two suboxone strips in his identification lanyard, police said.
Both Blanchard and Wright were issued citations and scheduled to appear in Rutland criminal court on Aug. 29.
