MT Holly Library

Fr: Susan Presson, MT Holly Library

Kids around the house more than usual  during the holidays?  The Mount Holly Library offers many distracting delights for kids of all ages.

Our expanded young people’s collection of DVDs includes:

”The Abominable Snowman”

”Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”  (Gene Wilder version.)

”The Homecoming” (The film that gave birth to the beloved tv series, “The Waltons.”)

And for something perhaps a little more up to date - “Elf” starring Will Ferrell

If you still have a VCR, we have titles on tape as well, including “The Nutcracker,”  and “Fantasia.”

We have dozens of other titles to help kids while  away the hours waiting for snow and holiday treats.

And for the young readers in the house, of course we have books galore as well;

In picture books  have , The Caldecott Medal winner, “The Snowy Day,” by Ezra Jack Keats. (You can read more about this remarkable artist here: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/09/arts/design/the-snowy-day-art-of-ezra-jack-keats-at-jewish-museum.html)

”Sally’s Christmas Miracle, by Peanuts creator, Charles M. Schultz

A Hanukkah Treasury, Edited by Eric Kimmel.

And for  slightly older readers, works by two famous authors who usually write for grown-ups, but have turned their talents to stories for young adults:

”The Christmas Wedding,” by James Patterson

and, “Skipping Christmas,” by John Grisham.

So stop in and pick up some of the kind of holiday cheer only a library can provide.
