Rutland Curbstone Chorus Featured in Ludlow, March 14

On March 14 at 7 pm, the Rutland Curbstone Chorus (pictured above) will perform at Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium. Sponsored by FOLA (Friends of Ludlow Auditorium), the Curbstone Chorus is a barber shop oriented group that has been featured in the region for the past decade. The group sings ' a capella' and features songs by the entire group as well as melodies by smaller groups.

Established in 2005, the Curbstone Chorus is made up of men from the Rutland, VT area and it can provide performance solutions for almost any event. The Chorus' repertoire spans several genres and can deliver performance groups from quartets and small ensembles to the full chorus. The performances can be featured events or simply background entertainment.

As a performance group, the Curbstone Chorus has performed at the Paramount Theater in Rutland, at summer outdoor town concerts, at Christmas tree-lighting ceremonies and holiday festivals, at group homes, at hospitals, at local parades, in variety shows, on the radio, at sporting events, at fundraisers and other types of shows, celebrations and events.

This will be the second performance of the chorus in Ludlow. The event will have a suggested donation of $8.

FOLA also set October 10 at 7 pm as the date for the annual Black River Folk and Blues Fest. The Fest will feature folk and blues musicians from the New England area, usually groups that have not performed in the Ludlow area before. Bruce Farr, FOLA's Program director, is already investigating groups that will be appropriate for this year's Fest. This will be the third occurrence of this annual and very popular event.

For additional information on these programs, check the FOLA website, www.fola.us, or call 802-228-7239.
