CSA’s were created as a way for the buyer to become an integral part of the agricultural community by pre-purchasing  shares.  Plew Farm's CSA is for community members who pre-pay for a seasonal supply of products.  Rather than go to the bank for a loan before each season, we reach out to our community to help cover our cost for feed, purchase of livestock, seed, maintenance, etc.  That way the community gets the "interest" instead of a big bank. The benefits of membership include a discount; flexibility in purchasing, and knowing where your food comes from as well as the farmers that grow it.  We offer a variety of products for purchase throughout the year, and with that in mind, we have decided to go with a CSA Farm Share model using credit instead of box pickups.  This will allow you to shop and choose exactly what you’d like.  No need to worry about missing a week if you are going to be out of town, and no problem picking up an extra chicken when company arrives!  We have 1/2 shares, valued at $200 or full shares, valued at $400.  Plew Farm Shares are available for purchase at a discount, depending on your purchase date.  You will be able to redeem your credit at our tables at The Mount Holly Farmers Market or The Ludlow Farmers Market, or here at the house.  You may begin using your Plew Farm Shares in May, think bedding plants!  Fresh chickens will be available starting in June.  Summer brings produce, pantry items, pies and SALSA!  We will also be offering boxes of individual pork cuts, so you'll know exactly what cuts you're getting.   And just in time for your Thanksgiving meal, we'll have pasture-raised turkeys.  You may use your farm share credit towards these items and anything else our farm offers for sale.  CSA Pricing 1/2 share = $200.00 value Full share = $400.00 value SHARES PURCHASED BY FEBRUARY 29, 2012 10% DISCOUNT $200 (1/2 share) you pay $180 $400 (full share) you pay $360 SHARES PURCHASED MARCH 1 - MARCH 31, 2012 7% DISCOUNT $200 (1/2 share) you pay $186 $400 (full share) you pay $372 SHARES PURCHASED APRIL 1 - APRIL 30, 2012 5% DISCOUNT $200 (1/2 share) you pay $190 $400 (full share) you pay $380   Plew Farm uses all organic growing methods and no GMOs Products Use your Plew Farm Share credits to purchase any of the following items during the season.  We'll keep track of your spending for you, with regular updates of how much is in your 'account'.
