The Build-Out Has Begun

Phase 1 construction underway, on the site of the Ludlow Community Center.

On January 23rd, Wright Construction began the build-out of Phase 1, which is scheduled to be an 8-week project. We are excited to report that after more than a year of planning, the new facility is becoming a reality. Once Phase 1 is completed, in late March, we will be able to obtain a certificate of occupancy...meaning, we can move in!

However, if we are successful with our fundraising for Phase 2, includes the HVAC system (priced at $76,000) and the studio (estimated at $85,000), we will keep Wright Constructuion on site and roll straight into Phase 2. But we are $50,000 away from that goal...if you, your business, or someone you know can help, every little bit counts. You can learn more about the project and make a donation by visiting our capital campaign web page.

CD / DVD Release Parties Over President's Weekend

"Irene's Wake", a volunteer music and video project, will be officially released on Friday, February 17th during a release party at Ludlow Town Hall, from 7 - 9PM. Performing will be Gypsy Reel, The Pleasants, Salt Ash Serenaders, and the Mt. Holly Folk Club. The following night, Saturday, February 18th, there will be a second release party, at The Outback in Ludlow. This one will start at 9PM, featuring Rick Redington & the Luv and Dank & the Funkstix. There is a $10 suggested donation to each release party. The CD / DVD compilation will also be available for purchase at each event.

The project is produced in conjunction with Mount Hollywood Studios and LPCTV and features songs written and recorded by local musicians, in response to Tropical Storm Irene and the recovery efforts, as well as music videos for a selection of the songs. Video footage and photographs were supplied by a wide variety of community members and volunteers.

Proceeds will benefit the Vermont Irene Flood Relief Fundand LPCTV's building project.

Volunteer Profile: "Bruce and Bruce", Black River High School Basketball

If you've tuned into Channel 8 lately (or channel 20 in Mount Holly), or visitied LPCTV.org, you have probably noticed an abundance of high school basketball games. Specifically, Black River high School basketball games. Both boys' and girls' games. Volunteer cameraman Bruce Perry has been tirelessly providing this coverage for several years now, and beginning last year, he has teamed up with Bruce Schmidt, who has been providing play-by-play commentary, along with poist-game wrap ups and interviews with coaches. Becuase of dedicated volunteer support from team Bruce & Bruce, Black River sports is dependable programming on LPCTV.
