"The King's Speech" Next FOLA Movie, Thurs., Feb. 16



"The King's Speech" will be last film in the 'Okemo Meets FOLA' series sponsored jointly by Okemo Mountain Resort and FOLA (Friends of Ludlow Auditorium).  The award-winning movie will be shown at the Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 PM.  It tells the story of the man who became King George VI, the father of Queen Elizabeth II. After his brother, King Edward VIII, abdicates, George ('Bertie') reluctantly assumes the throne. Plagued by a dreaded stammer and considered unfit to be king, Bertie engages the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue. Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country through war.  The film is open tto everyone and is free; donations are approeciated.  For information, call 802-228-7239.  FOLA reminds area readers that its March '1st Thursday' film will be the all-time classic, "Citizen Kane" which will be shown on March 1 at 7 PM in the auditorium.  FOLA information is also available at its new web site, www.fola.us.
